ROYALTY OWNERS FORMS PROGRAM

Royalty Owners began purchasing the Kanes Manual of Oil and Gas Forms in 1989, for use in preparing documents dealing with their interests.  The Royalty Owner Forms Program has over 121 different forms that deal with transactions in which mineral, royalty, and landowners are involved.  

Kanes Forms participated in the 2001 and 2003 National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) Conventions. Visiting with NARO members, additional suggestions were obtained.  

Mike Atnipp, Managing Partner of Kanes Forms, began compiling a list of forms specifically requested by mineral and royalty owners to develop a collection of forms for Royalty Owners.

The Royalty Owner Forms Program has many of the basic forms that have been developed over the years by Kanes Forms, plus new forms developed specifically for mineral and royalty owners.  

Some of the forms in the Royalty Owner Program are:

• Lease Riders and Addendums - Some mineral owners only want to modify leases submitted to them, or develop a basic set of addendums to add to all leases they sign.  The Royalty Owner Forms Program has over 300 different provisions that may be added to a lease, providing for continuous development (Pugh and Freestone Riders), surface damages and restoration, limitations on pooling, horizontal severances, and many more.
• Lessor Oil and Gas Lease Form and Geophysical Option Agreements - The Royalty Owner Forms Program provides lease forms that are intended for use by a mineral owner that has significant bargaining position.  These forms are not just a collection of provisions found in different leases and agreements.  They are well organized with all their terms consistent with one another.
• Deeds - The Royalty Owner Forms Program includes a variety of deed forms:  to trusts, out of trust, gift, royalty, mineral, etc.

1. The forms in the Index, as listed, below, is in the same order as the forms appear in the Program.  They are divided into topical Sections, with all the forms in each Section listed alphabetically.
2. There are no sample forms for Acknowledgments, but Acknowledgement forms for each state listed are included in the Program.
